Well, I had hoped that my first blog entry would contain something really GRAND, but we're just an average family, so this entry will be just like all the others... just a day in the life of our average, everyday family.
We went Geocaching yesterday after a VERY long absence from it. It's probably been three or four years since we last searched for a cache, but it was great to be back out. I liked it even more since our son is now six years-old and he could participate too.
We went up to northern Greenville County around North Greenville University, the old Poinsett Bridge and Campbell's Covered Bridge. Our first cache of the day was found at the Poinsett Bridge (off Hwy. 11). We were all thrilled when we opened up our first cache in several years and actually found a travel bug (pictured)! It's trying to make it's way back to Vermont I believe, so our family decided we would take it camping with us this weekend and place it at another cache. We left a large bottle of sealed bubbles, signed the log, and covered it back up for the next treasure hunter.
Jaden found his first cache at the "Old State Road Culvert" across from Old Camp Indian and took a plastic Easter egg. Priscilla took a Pisgah Wildlife pin from the same cache and we left a crossword puzzle book and a butter fly pencil.
At this point it was getting late, so we had to head back home. Overall we had a great day despite the wind almost knocking us off our feet at times. I would have taken more photos, but I was too busy attempting to climb hills unnecessarily and losing my footing on soaked leaves. Maybe next time!

After doing some searching a little while ago I found out that there is even a cache where Jaden will be having his T-ball practice later today, so maybe we'll have to arrive a little early to squeeze a find in today. :)

Did you find the cache?
